Glen Derwent offers a range of accommodation from self-contained cottages to grand, antique-furnished bedrooms. You can book a single room or cottage, or the entire main house, cottages and grounds.

Set on 36 acres in a rural setting with beautiful gardens, walks around several ponds, pastures, historic buildings from the hop growing era and wild bush.
Each suite has its own private entrance with a verandah, as well as separate bathroom, lounge and dining areas. For large groups, all the suites may be accessed as one combined area through interconnecting doors
Activities on the property include walks, visiting the resident Alpacas, enjoying Hamlet Downs dogs Smokey Joe and Ellie-Mae and the cat Cheeky Monkey, bird watching or just relaxing. Or you may care to enjoy a leisurely game of boules or croquet.
Your host Jenifa believes great food and wine are an essential part of a good holiday experience and therefore loves the opportunity to cook for her guests. Hamlet Downs is a no smoking establishment. Smoking is permitted outside of the building.

Constructed by Ebenezer Shoobridge who introduced hops to Australia and established one of the largest hop farms in the world at Bushy Park. Pedder Wilderness Lodge is located right in the heart of Tasmania’s Southwest National Park which is part of Tasmania’s World Heritage Area. Recognised as one of the world’s extraordinary natural wonders by the World Heritage Commission, it is to be protected forever from human intervention. One tree, which now sits out the front of the Lodge, was cut down in the 1970’s before this protection was in place. The great Huon pine, which is about the width of a car, has its rings marked all the way back to the birth of Christ.
Our surrounds, from which this great Huon came, boast everything from ancient awe-inspiring landscapes with boulders from the Jurassic period, striking mountains and lush sub-alpine rainforests with monolithic trees which range from centuries to thousands of years old, all the way to the modern man-made Gordon Dam which offers one of the world’s top ten adrenaline activities.

Rathmore Cottage has one Queen bedded bedroom, 2 original single Shearers’ stretchers and double fold out sofa bed, bathroom with washing machine and kitchen facilities.
Walk around the property to view sheep, wildlife including platypus in the Dew Rivulet, or fish for trout to enjoy this unique relaxed opportunity to stay on a sheep property settled in 1828 and owned by one family for 150 years so never before open to the public.

Stanton Farmhouse is a convict-built brick Georgian farmhouse on 16 acres of paddocks, orchards and gardens and we want you to make it your own during your stay. Stanton is one of Australia’s oldest homes with a rich history including Martin Cash, the Tasmanian bushranger who made the family ‘stand and deliver’.
It is not a grand residence or a stately manor but a down-to-earth family farmhouse. Every beautiful brick used in construction was handmade on the property 200 years ago.
You will be welcomed whether you are travelling by yourself, with a partner or in a group. We serve our own produce and the best from around Tasmania including ethically produced meat such as Scottsdale chicken and pork.
